The statue portrays a service member and family that must part for an overseas deployment for the Global War of Terror. There is a foreshadowing of a poignant outcome, as the child holds a triangular funeral flag. It represents honor to the many service members who have paid the ultimate sacrifice and the families that have sacrificed through the loss of their loved ones.
The monument figures will be approximately one and one-quarter life size and the monument will stand approximately seventeen feet tall.
