Filip2Two very generous patriots, Richard and Jeanne Filip, Texas Sentinels Foundation co-founders, attended a charity event and personally bid on an Art Bronze replica of the “Price of Liberty” Monument that will be placed at the Texas Capitol to honor Service Members and their Families that have served in the Global War on Terror.  This personal contribution to build the Texas War Memorial is a confirmation of their generosity and drive to support Texas Veterans and their Families.  Not only have they founded an organization that supports the Troops in an exemplary manner – they supported the Texas War Memorial as well.

Richard Filip, speaking about the Texas Sentinels said, “ . . . we want to help.  We can do this.  It is the right thing to do.  We have room at the table in our Texas communities.”  Please consider supporting their organization as they so generously support our Texas heroes http://texassentinels.org/

JohnEagleHondaAnother Platinum donor!  Mr. Mac DeLaup, President and Managing Partner at John Eagle Honda.  Mr. DeLaup says “Personally I have had family members that served in most branches of the military back to the Civil War.  Sergeant Francois DeLaup was a flag bearer in the Confederate Army and was shot three times and mortally wounded on the third shot, yet refused to let the Colors touch the ground as he passed them to another.  Staff Sergeant Henry McMillan Elder, my namesake, died by Japanese mortar fire storming the beaches of Okinawa in WWII.  My brother-in-law, served in Vietnam as a paratrooper, and my brother was a proud Marine – but as proud as I am of these family members, this is only a small sampling of the thousands of Texans who have served, and all too many who paid the ultimate sacrifice.  It is time we celebrate their lives with this incredible Texas War Memorial to be viewed by generations to come.”

Please support John Eagle Honda of Houston, 18787 Northwest Freeway Houston, TX 77065 – The Eagle Edge means worry-free car ownership.  It is the most innovative customer care program in the industry today.  Purchase or lease your new vehicle from John Eagle Honda and you pay nothing for the Eagle Edge for as long as you own the car.  New Sales (866) 495-7073, Pre-Owned Sales (866) 201-6666, Service & Parts (281) 955-6666

Silver Donors

Rebecca Campbell, founder of the Children of Fallen Soldiers Relief Fund, attended a National Guard Association of Texas RebeccaConvention and Family Support Event. The small bronze model of the Price of Liberty was unveiled at the event. Rebecca was the first donor to believe and support the Monument through her foundation.

After the attacks on 9/11, Rebecca’s youngest son enlisted in the U.S. Army in 2003 was deployed to Baghdad. Later that year, with the help of family and friends she organized a fundraiser to help children affected by the loss of a parent. The first fundraiser was held two weeks later and was a big success. Rebecca simply could not stop and with the help of volunteers and the public the CFSRF continued to grow.

The Children of Fallen Soldiers Relief Fund (a 501(c)(3) organization) was founded October 23, 2003 by Rebecca Campbell and is based in the D.C. Metropolitan area. The CFSRF was founded in order to provide support to surviving U.S. Military children and spouses that have lost a loved one in the Iraq and  Afghanistan wars or whose service member has sustained a serious disability.

Our objectives are to help U.S. Military children and spouses with College Grants  as well as provide financial assistance to those families in need of help with  housing, utilities, food and clothing. Often, when a loss occurs in these families what was a two person income becomes one. The financial hardships placed on these families are very difficult to deal with. Their lives are devastated and forever changed.

We are determined to help make the last wishes of those lost to the casualty of war possible by assisting their families with their needs.
