I met Tim at Fort Leonard Wood in 2002 at Engineer Officer Basic Course, he was cool and confident, a natural leader. He was a loving husband, dedicated father and a wealth of Army knowledge, but above all else he was a passionate believer in Christ, leading weekly Bible studies and enthusiastically giving benediction whenever given the opportunity.

On February 2, 2006 in Taji, Iraq, Tim went to meet his lord and savior when an improvised explosive devise detonated near his M2A3 Bradley Fighting vehicle making him the 195th Texan to pay the ultimate sacrifice. I learned of his death from my Commander and was assigned the somber duty of notifying his parents, an experience that will stay with me forever.

I wish Simon and Jamey could have known their father like so many of us did. I hope they are proud of the Soldier, Husband, Father and man of God that he was and I know they have a strong mother who shares his legacy with them.
